BRICK DAYS 2019 BUILDER OF THE PLAINS AWARD WINNER
How long have you been building with LEGO? How long have you been creating MOCs?
The first set I remember building is the #313 London Double Decker Bus at Christmas 1966. It was a primitive, angular set with grey solid rubber tires, but that was enough to jumpstart a lifetime love of Lego.
What made you interested in LEGO?
(Ever since I lost the instructions to the Double Decker Bus in 1967 :) )
Like most AFOLs I’ve experienced a couple of periods of Dark Ages in my life, but I started building again in 2013. I couldn’t believe the variety of colors and pieces that were now available and I’ve been building ever since.
What creation of yours are you most proud of?
Scooby Doo and the Mystery Machine in miniland scale. The vehicle is a complex shape and so widely recognized that it had to be accurate. It was so satisfying to complete.
What are your favorite creations to build and why?
Trashy pop culture ones!
What was your favorite part about Brick Days?
Brick Days is always a blast of fun and one of my favorite parts is seeing the public’s reaction to everyones displays.
