BRICK DAYS 2023 BUILDER OF THE PLAINS AWARD WINNER

How long have you been building with LEGO? How long have you been creating MOCs?

I have been building MOCs since 2017.  I played with LEGO when I was young but it wasn't until I was an adult that I started intentionally building MOCs.

What made you interested in LEGO?

I have been interested in LEGO since I was young.  I am drawn to the possibilities of creating small worlds and bringing to life ideas that I can imagine.  I also love the challenge of the constraints that LEGO brings with limited pieces and colors.

What creation of yours are you most proud of? 

My series of Harry Potter book vignettes and The Art of Color.  I fell in love with the Harry Potter books as an adult and was driven to bring the images in my mind to life in a meaningful way.  The Art of Color is bright and colorful with a lot of texture.  It makes me smile every time I look at it.

What are your favorite creations to build and why?

I love building creations that integrate nature or creations that are bright and vibrant.  Nature and vibrant colors bring me peace and joy so I am drawn to build expressions of that. 

What was your favorite part about Brick Days?

Brick Days is one of my favorite events of the year! I love the community that comes together for these few days.  It's a time of connecting with builders that I only get to see once a year, casual hangouts, learning and growing and connecting with this special community.
